Cindy
is a certified member of the American Council on Exercise. She was trained by
the American Council of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and holds a degree in Movement
Science and Nutrition. Cindy is energetic, innovative and offers a thoughtful and challenging class
for her clients.
Joe
has extensive experience teaching classes and as a personal trainer. He is certified by the AFAA, ACE, FRA,
IDEA, RIA and NIA, and is an associate member of ASCM. Joe has a unique ability to stimulate
and motivate his students to achieve their fullest potential. His enthusiasm
and high energy make his classes dynamic, exciting and fun! He stresses the
importance of good body mechanics and teaches safe and effective exercise.
Joe's classes are easy to follow, using a systematic approach to multi-level
exercise. The motto in Joe's Mind and Body in Motion class is "nothing you
do is wrong, as long as you are moving and enjoying yourself!"
Dan
is certified by the AFAA and teaches a power step class designed to increase athletic performance, speed, and power.
His class is very high energy and definitely not for the beginner or the faint
of heart! Dan describes himself as a free spirit, with a teaching philosophy
that encourages students to do whatever they can and to have fun. He has five children,
two grandchildren, and cheerfully admits that he loves to eat!
Jean
is a certified member of the American Council on Exercise. She was trained by
the American Council of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and holds a degree in Movement
Science and Nutrition. Jean is energetic, innovative and really challenges her students
to get a great workout.
Sylvia
has been teaching at Fitness First for 12 years! She is certified by both Reebok and Joy of Movement and
teaches a straightforward athletic class, without complicated choreography, placing special emphasis on form,
safety, and back/spine health. Her classes are multi-level, and perfect for the beginner or the athlete
looking to get a solid cardiovascular workout. All of her classes include
a light upper body and abdominal workout, with her interval aerobics increasing
the intensity of the strength workout and adding in lower body components.
Sylvia has a solid background in competitive and recreational sports,
she played both rugby and ice hockey while studying at Cornell University
and continues to figure-skate, ride, ski and snowboard.
Andrei
was born in Moscow and trained in the elite Russian athletic system.
After graduation from the Olympic Development High School in Moscow, he worked as
a massage therapist for the National Greco-Roman Wrestling Team while continuing his studies
at the Central Academy for Physical Culture. He specialized in massage therapy, sports medicine, physiology and anatomy,
and after earning his bachelor's degree, he worked as a massage therapist
at a hospital for athletes. Since 1993, Andrei has served as the massage therapist for both
the Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics, and in May 1996 he opened the International Massage Therapy
Center at Fitness First. Andrei is also a black belt in Judo.
Robin
is certified by the AFAA, ACE and IDEA, and leads a body sculpting
class that uses fit-balls, body bands and hand weights to create a multi-level strengthening and toning class.
Currently, Robin is also studying at the New England School of Acupuncture where she is
working towards her Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
